howdy!! welcome to my home for my art, writing, and projects. its also a digital scrapbook of sorts, an ever-changing collection of ideas and images and feelings.
ghoulcountry began in 2025 with the need for a creative hub that wouldn’t suddenly decide trans bodies are obscene or attempt to shove AI into every broken nook and failing cranny. it quickly spiraled into something bigger than just a landing point for my drawings that i had total control over, though being able to realize that goal alone made me mad with power. 
i grew up in the geocities and angelfire era of the early internet and, while i never learned to code myself back then, i fantasized about the kinds of fun things i would include on my own website if i could. i still haven’t exactly learned to code, but eeeehhhh details. details! that doesn’t need to stop me! when has not knowing how to do the thing ever stopped me!! ghoulcountry is a dream slowly coming true. that does however mean pieces of it may be missing or not quite functional yet. patience is appreciated while i fumble my way through making this place everything i always wanted it to be.
that being said, here's a thing i probably shouldn't have to say but i'm gonna say anyway: all of the work here is my own unless otherwise stated, and everything i didn’t make myself is free to use, gifted from my talented friends, or commissioned by me for me, and it's all credited on my links page! i will never knowingly use AI for anything i create, and i dont consent for my work to be used to train AI models.
i'm a queer transmasc enby menace with the soul of a muppet. i have a couple fursonas, a billion additional OCs, and a degree in writing with a minor in art from some university or other. at the very core of my being i am tired.
i live with my darling wonderful amazing wife, Parker, and our two turdburglar cats, Gohan and Brigid. cat tax ➘
my favorite color is green, my favorite animals are aye ayes, and i could survive forever off a single cup of choccy milk. what else, what else... it's always so hard to come up with stuff to say about myself actually.

Dirk Strider is the post-scratch incarnation of Dave Strider's adopted Bro and ectobiological father. and all around blorbo ever.
that sentence alone should be a good example of why trying to explain anything about him to anyone unfamiliar with homestuck is a task too big for this box to handle. maybe let's stick to some vague basics here and go ham with details in the shrine, yeah? yeah.
dirk strider is a horsegirl, weeb, artist, mechanic, inventor, and egomaniacal god. he technically grew up in texas but that version of earth had been flooded for about 400 years so no one really cares about that. he's got a weird thing for puppets and a relatively normal thing for katanas, given his love of anime. he's a fan of irony, bad comics (good comics?), and white boy rapping. dirk is gay and therefore legally allowed to say the fslur.
visual motifs include pointy anime shades, the color orange, and the ocean. emotional motifs include isolation, martyrdom, and fate. he's not ok! ♥

the short version of darkiplier's origin story is "what if markiplier evil." the longer version involves nonsense videos becoming "canon" to a growing, evolving, muppet-style universe where everyone is markiplier and markiplier plays everyone.
darkiplier is a demon of sorts comprised of three souls; siblings celine and damien, along with an unknown entity, inhabit a body. your body. our body, actually. the audience. mark always said viewers were the ones to make darkiplier real~
his motives tend to appear random though nearly always malicious. he's calculating, cold, conniving, charming, and a cunt. he always appears in a suit, cast in black and white, and glitching. shifting red and blue chromatic abberation blurs his edges. a tell tale sign that he's around is a high pitched ringing noise, like persistent tinnitus.
